Glacier Place, the third office block in the Santam office park in Tyger Valley which was developed by JSE- listed property investment and development company, Ingenuity Property Investments, has received a four star Green Star Office v1 as-Built rating from the Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA).
Ingenuity acquired the 27 054 m² site and the first two office blocks which house the Santam head office a few years ago, with the intention of adding value and unlocking bulk and completed the 12-storey Glacier Place at a cost of R215 million in 2013.
Santam and its associated company, Glacier Financial Holdings, occupy most of the 11 340 m² building with Pioneer Foods occupying around 3 235 m².
Ingenuity managing director, Arnold Maresky, says achieving the as-built rating was a commendable achievement as the building had not had a design rating from which to build.
